The aim of this site is to give a different look at Old Hereford, with new and old pictures of its people, it's buildings, it's businesses and events from over the years.
Something a little different for people to take a look at and talk about.

It was called Bushwackers for a while. The nightclub took court action to prevent the pub using the name even though they used it first. That spelt doom for the pub.
A distant relative of mine (Ken) ran the pub for years - following on from his dad - wish I knew more. Apparently he was the longest serving landlord in town back in the 70's/ 80's. It was a real hark-back to the old times - wooden casks of (really rough) cider on the bar and a separate room at the back for ladies.
I thought bushwackers was what is now play nightclub in Blueschool street, the old Bluecoat school
ReplyDeleteYes I've got a vague idea that it did become Bushwackers for a short while

ReplyDeleteKen's Father was George Williams.
ReplyDeleteGosh! I remember the scrumpy - I had three pints once, and 'came to' nearly back home. I was at the art college in '81.
