Rolling Stones,Hillside Ballroom.

Old Promo poster from the "Hillside Ballroom" in Maybury Avenue 13th December 1963.
These were the days when you just turned up on the evening and you were always guaranteed a top line act of the day.As you can see this night just happened to be the one and only appearance in Hereford of the Rolling Stones .
Unfortunately the Hillside Ballroom fell on hard times and was later known as "Mr Ts" before it's demolition in the 198os.Today there are no trace's of any buildings from that area left to see today.

King's Acre Halt Caravan Park.

"King's Acre Halt Garage and Caravan Park."

Old Donovan C.Wilson Postcard possibly from the late 1950s showing the old garage and caravan park in all it's glory. Notice the site is surrounded by fruit orchards, at the time a huge industry in Herefordshire there are also some great looking old vehicles on the forecourt of the garage.

Franklin Barnes Building.

The Franklin Barnes Garden Centre in Commercial Square Hereford. The building was rebuilt in the 1960s to run along side the new inner ring road. At the the time this was quite futuristic for the city of Hereford. But did you know another of Hereford's land mark buildings was closed so Franklin Barnes could concentrate on their business in Commercial Square. Number 13 Bridge Street "The Crystal Rooms".
